A year ago today....

As many of you know, I have the craziest dreams. Most nights I wake up laughing, cause I am seriously sick and twisted. My dreams are a riot. Like most everyone, my dreams never come true. However, a year ago today, sadly I had a dream come true. Friday night I went to sleep after talking to one of my best friends Jake on the phone. That night I had a dream that Jake was in a dirt bike accident in Logan and had to be life-flighted to SLC. The dream went further into detail, but his injuries are a blur. In the dream I recieved a phone call at 6:00pm at work sat. night from my friend Shad telling me of Jake's accident. I woke up sad, and I was glad it was just a dream. However, the thought stuck with me throughout the day. While I was at work on Saturday I decided to make myself feel better I would keep my phone in my pocket, on vibrate. @ 4:30pm I texted Jake to see how riding went. No text in return....naturally I still didn't think anything of it. No joke, at 5:50 pm my phone goes off, it is Shad. My heart literally sank. I was with a customer, so as soon as I was finished I ran back to call Shad back. I was seriously sick while I was calling him. He answered the phone and sad " Jake's been in an accident. You have got to get to Brigham asap, it doesn't look good". I ran out, told the girls at work and within seconds I was speeding down to Brigham. Along the way I picked up our other friend Big Jake and followed Shad down to Brigham (Logan and Brig. are about 30 minutes away). While we were in the Canyon we recieved a phone call from Shad saying that he had just been told they were life flighting Jake to SLC and we had to hurry. My heart broke as I saw Jake lying lifeless on the stretcher as they escorted him to the helicopter. After they loaded him up, I took off and headed down to LDS hospital. I was doing surprisingly well, until I got on the interstate and saw the helicopter fly overhead. I lost it. It was the worst feeling to be driving, and looking up at this red and white helicopter carrying a friend who'd been with you through everything for the past 3 years. To make a long story a little shorter...I spent the first two days visiting Jake at LDS. Sunday was hard, I stayed most of the day and helped his sister care for him. He is one of the toughest people I know, and to see him in so much pain, just killed me. When he crashed, the wheel of his bike landed on his back, literally exploding his kidney. After many surgery's and 12 days in the ICU he was released with a about a 15" scar down his chest and one less kidney. Jake returned to his happy go lucky self in just weeks. So you ask why am I posting this tribute? I learned so much through this accident. For one thing I quit dreaming:) j/k I learned that life can change in an insant. I had never had someone that close to me, almost kick the bucket. I have learned to always leave on good terms, apologize even when it is not your fault, and when talking to my family; leave the converstion with I LOVE YOU. It is amazing how often that word goes unsaid. Three words that can change forever. This accident also strenthened my understanding of the phrase Friends Forever. It is amazing how your friends can become like your family.
Sorry to get all hallmarky on you, but I just wanted to share this story and remind you all to never stop saying I love you. And please remember how much a smile, hug or phone call can mean to a person. I have vowed to live my life as if each day were to be my last, that way hopefully I live with no regrets. SO...my challenge to each of you right now is to pick up the phone and call one person and tell them how much they mean to you and how much you love them!

LOST at LAST!!!!

I know I'm sick...I'm the first to admit it...but I am addicted to LOST. I have never been addicted to a TV show in my life (expect for punky bruster and full house) but I am truly in love with this show. For those of you who are devoted fans as myself, today is the best day of your life. 8 months ago ABC ripped this beautiful show out of our hearts and are returning tonight....for a two hour season premeire. I can't even breathe:)
Oh and I have a secret crush on the island too....everyone always goes for the doctor....blah blah blah, as for me, I stick with Saywer...a con artist, who has had my heart since the show began. He is sassy, bad and dirty....and I love him!! His character is so amazing!! My two favorite people on the island (Kate and Sawyer) hooked it up last season, let's just say I was smiling ear to ear.

Please remember, I am not normally caught up in TV shows like this....but for all you devoted LOST fans, you understand!! Ohh and just so you all know, my phone will be on silent Thursday night from 8-10pm....Emergancy or not....it will have to wait! I am gettin LOST:)

Home sweet Home

I have promised so many of you pictures of my humble abode...so here you go! Liz and I have a two bed, two bath apt, on the third story. I love just living with one person! She is amazing! We are both neat freaks too:) and she hates decorating and had nothing as far as furniture. Everything but her room, is my stuff. Just ask my poor dad and brother as they helped me haul all this up:) Ready for the grand tour?

Here is our living room....notice the black hutch? My dad made that!

Here is the kitchen (sorry the pic is kinda blurry) and off the kitchen is our little laundry closet. Hey Jessica, does the washer and dryer look familiar?

This is my bathroom. I have the master, so my bath is inside my room. Liz's bath and bed are across from eachother down the hall. Between my room and the kitchen.

Here is my favorite room:) I love my room! And spend much time here too:) If you know me at all, you will see that my room reflects 100% me. I love black, white and red; I love anything european (which by the way, those picutres underneath smile is pictures I took in Europe and then added a little photoshop loving....I LOVE THEM!) and I also love clocks. (Clearly) For Christmas santa got me my wire framed dress form (ontop of my dresser)...I love her! That really completes my room!! And the headboard is my second favorite part! I painted the door and dresser at the same time, they are made for eachother! Ohh and Sabrina...do you love the clock? That is all you girl!!

Ohh and talk about a dream closet! I even have a square table in there!! One half of my closet is totally empty:)
So, there you go!! Enjoy:)

My List of 25 Goals

Many of you have asked over the year, what my 25 goals were....so here you go. I have complied just a few of the pics from my list of 25 things I had to do before I turned 25.

Just a little history: Last year on my 24th birthday, one of my best friends Tracy got married. I flew "home" to Seattle to be a bridesmaid in her wedding. It was such a fun birthday! I loved it! On the plane ride home, I started this list, of 25 things I wanted to accomplish before I turned the big 25. As I looked back over the years, I had always made goals and like most people, never kept them, so I decided that I was going to compile a list of goals that no matter what, I had to accomplish. The support from friends and family was amazing. Without asking, people just starting assigning themselves a goal that they wanted to be apart of. For each goal I had to take a picture and then make a big scrapbook of the 25 steps I took to turn 25. Here are some pictures of some of my goals from the past year.

1. Learn to play I Believe in Christ on the piano
2. Be in another wedding
3. Shoot a moving target
4. Go through the Temple
5. Float the logan canal

6. Find Old Ephraims Grave
7. Go to Europe

8. Make a Quilt
9. Run a 5k

10. Make an apple pie
11. Build a piece of furniture
12. Dance in the rain
13. Send out 25 letters to people that have influenced me over my life
14. Go to a movie alone
15. Do 1,000 piece puzzel
16. Make a scrapbook of my highlights over the past 25 years
17. Drive a semi
18. Eat off someone's plate at a restaurant

19. Hike Mt. Timp

20. Go to Disneyland
21. Go on a Roadtrip
22. Go to Seattle

23. Milk a Cow
24. Ride a Horse
25. Pet a goat

And a huge thank you to everyone that helped along the way!! Thanks especially to my family for supporting me, in my nutty goals! I couldn't of done it without you guys!!

Alicia wedding

My old roomie got married this past weekend, I had the fantastic opportunity to be in her wedding party. Just in case you were all wondering....I am thinking about charging for any future weddings. Being that this was my fourth wedding in under a year, and my 7th total, I think I have some experince and now consider myself professional. Actually to be honest, I love it!! It is so fun to be such a special part in my dear friends weddings!! Isn't Alicia stunning! I loved her dress!!

My excuses for not blogging....

My blogging has been a little lax lately, but I do feel I have some good excuses! Quick update on the last week of my life....
Christmas eve: It took Katie and I 4.5 hours to drive to my parents house due to a huge winter storm....we thought we were going to die. Ohh and not to mention that my heater crapped out 3 hours into it. We almost froze to death (ohh, it normally only takes 1:45 to get home....) It was the wildest storm ever!!
Christmas day: Here is my whole family on my mom's side...minus Nike, she opted to stay out of the photo.
These are our new friends from Ghana, Africa. Many of you know that Albert, the cutie in the red, is basically my little adopted brother. He has been a part of our family for the last 2.5 years; and spends holidays and birthdays with us. Annette and Freebody(the two in the back) are his siblings visiting and Bismarck is the stud in the blue shirt, front. Albert leaves on his mission in two days, so Christmas was our big last hoorah for him! These boys were hysterical! We played games all Christmas night! It was so fun to play with these guys!
This year for Christmas a group of us went to the developmental state center and played santa's elves to some of the patients there. It was a very moving experince! So cool!
Nike and I went out and played in the freshly fallen snow....we had a snowball fight...clearly I won.

It truely should be illegal to get married at Christmas time....but either way, Landon and MaLese sealed the deal on the 28th. The photographer never showed, so luckily someone let me use their nice camera, and I played photo girl for the day.....the good picures are on their way, this is just one that someone took on my camera, while I was taking their shots. It was a very cold day, but beautiful....once we get my pictures back, you will see how cute they are.....it was freezing remember...:)
Yes, yes...let the over the hill jokes begin. That is right, On december 29th, I hit the big 25. This is my cheesecake, cake...it was delicious!
While we were waiting for our dinner reservations at Maccaroni Grill, we walked around temple square and saw the lights...and yes it was snowing again....that is all it does around here these days! it is so pretty!
Could we get anymore people in the car? This is my cousin Tanner (red shirt) and his wife and two kids, and my brothers best friend Alex all crammed in the car as we headed off for a little birthday treat for me....*next picture*
Hooray!! I got to drive a semi!! For reals! I drove it two blocks and got up to 2 gears. I am basically pro. This was my last goal to check off....and sure enough, I am amazing. soon I wil do a blog about all my birthday goals....but take a good look folks, I am pretty amazing! how many of you can say you have driven a semi?

Dear Santa, Define NAUGHTY

Sorry for my blog slacking. Last week was a very tough week and you should all be glad I didn't blog....it was rough! But finals are over, and my cold is gone....I was pretty messed up last week, but I am back to "normal". Well my roommate Liz and I decided to celebrate our little Christmas last night. Like our tree? I wasn't going to even have one, until a sweet friend of mine Kimberly Fairbanks sent me some homemade ornadments....I had to use them. (Look really hard in the tree and you will see little gingerbread man hanging out:)
For Christmas Liz got me Season Three of Lost....basically I am in LOVE and slightly OBSESSED with Lost....I was tickled pink! Then for fun we decided we would go see santa; not my best picture but what do you do. Santa just laughed as we walked up. Don't worry I gave him a full report on how naughty Liz has been. We had a very fun night! Filled with laughter and Cafe Rio....yum!

Dancing in the Rain

I know, you are thinking....so CLICHE! However, for one of my 25 things I have to do before I turn 25 I need to dance in the rain. This was not what I had intended when I made the goal, but I am always up for change. Katie and I had a blast. It wasn't truely raining hard, but this is December in Logan...gotta take what you get. It is actually snow now, but we caught it just in time! We danced and froliced in a little park and called it good....we had a blast!! Thanks Katie for helping to complete one of my goals!!

...Putting the "Ho" in Holidays

This weekend I had the glorious opportunity to go home and see my family. While I was home they decided to put up the christmas decorations and tree....as you can see, our family doesn't take this occasion lightly....we must act the part:) j/k, but we did find some fun accessories to help bring in the christmas cheer!

Forget the sleigh...this santa rides in style:)

Ho, Ho & Ho and a little reindeer:)
We missed Landon and Katie....maybe next year they will get their priorites straight and join the team:)
