Sorry this has taken so long. We have had NOTHING but computer/camera issues for days. If you only knew how tricky I have had to be to get this post up. CRAZY!
Dear Dylan,
This is your story.
Wednesday Feb 23-
I thought my water had broken. I will leave the details to a memory, but trust me dude...I was not the only one that thought the fish was outta water. The doctor had stripped my membranes that morning, and while I was at work....the dam broke:)
Hospital Attempt #1
Don't I look SOOO happy:)??? I had three nurses throughout the night tell me that my water had broken, I was in labor and they were admitting me. I had also been told by the same three nurses that nevermind the tests showed that the water was still in tact. It was stressful. Those silly nurses were stressing me out.
Here is a picture of the hospital gowns that make you feel more naked than actually being naked.
This was after they told me we were staying and you were on your way. (Liars)
I went home feeling embarassed, stressed, tired and confused. I understand that many people have "false" labor...but honestly Dylan...you even fooled the nurses into thinking you were coming. Tricky litte fella:)
Monday Feb 28-
Hospital Attempt #2
Again...the dam broke (And don't be thinking I wet my pants. TRUST ME, I know the difference). BUT this time, I was having a hard time getting you to move. I hadn't felt you in about 15 hours and I was getting stressed. The doctor again told us to go in, and sure enough you were fine. I was still only dilated to a 1...but my cervix was prolapsed and putting me in ALOT of pain. So the lovely nurses gave me some morphine and loratab and we went home.
And so your story begins.
Tuesday March 1-
Hospital attempt #3
I had contractions starting at 3:00am. First it was every 15 minutes. Then every 10. Then 8 minutes apart. Then 5 and I was HURTING and then by 6:00pm (15 hours later) they were every 2-4 and we packed up and headed to the hospital, again.
I still was only a 1 but the contractions were so strong that the nurses kept me there for 6 hours just to make sure.
We were sent home at 1:00am. Tired and discouraged, we headed to Grandma's to sleep. By this time, I had been in "Active" labor for 22 hours.
Wednesday March 2- THE BIG DAY!
We had a doctors appt in the morning, and I was going to kick the doctors teeth in if I hadn't progressed. I was still having contractions and from the parking lot of the doctors office to the room I had 6 contractions in 10 minutes...and I was in tears. The doctor checked me and said...
"Congratulations, you are dilated to a 5. Head over to Labor and Delivery!!"
We stopped by Roxberry Smoothie on our way to the hospital...and I pounded down that smoothie. I knew it would be my last meal for a while.
Trust me. I know how good I look. I am only including this picture for your sake. This was before the epidural:)
I wanted to go as long as I could without the major drugs....When I got to a six and the nurse suggested it...I took it. I was so tired from having contractions for so long and I was begining to loose energy and strength.
I got the epidural around noon and was so happy. I wanted a lower dose so I could still feel the pressure...but not the pain. It was marvelous.
At about 4:00pm the doctor came and broke my water and said I was a 7. He wanted me to get to a 10 and then "rest and decend"...basically meaning I let my body take over for an hour, while at a 10 to let you ease slowly into the actual process.
At 5:45pm I began pushing.
Your arrival was SUCH a big deal, that half the town was in the room.
Daddy, Grandpa and Grandma Davis, Katie, Carly and Jessica Kettle. It started off as a small gathering, and quickly grew. Landon and MaLese couldn't make it because of their kids, and I wasn't planning on the large gathering, so they couldn't make plans.
Jessica took some AMAZING pictures and we will post those soon.
Being the open person that I am, I really didn't care who was there. PLUS my eyes were squeezed shut for two hours anyway. I did shut everyone up, once. I needed to focus:)
I was so focused that I didn't even know the doctor was in the room. I was also so focused that I didn't know how close you were....I really wanted to watch on the mirrors but I tuned EVERYONE but your dad out, and had no idea that you were well on your way.
After 41 hours...my life was changed forever.I gave three big pushes and POP! here you are.
I am so glad that everyone was able to be there and witness such a miracle. There wasn't a dry eye in the room. I will never forget the feeling I got as I looked over to see your daddy picking you up for the first time. Amazing. You were beautiful.
I don't have any pictures from the labor room...because Jessica has them all...and we ALL know she took some incredible pictures. I can't wait to see them.

You LOVE your guppy blanket from Aunty Jess. The little fish are my favorite:)
This is a personal favorite. Two of my girl friends from work made you this "angel" onesie. It is DARLING! I love the wings:)
This is our first family picture. This was taken right before we left the hospital.
Dylan's first car ride.
You have SOO much dark blonde hair. We all love your pocket mullet in the back. SOOO cute!
Grandma and Grandpa Walker have been here for the past few days. Grandma Walker gave you your first bath...at home. You did really well....just a few shrieks and shrills....soon you will love to be naked. Baths are the best:)
This is your first girlfriend, Amelia. Isn't she beautiful. She was born exactally two weeks before you, and she is quite the fox. Her mom Ali and are really good friends...and even took pictures of our bellies together, for your wedding album. Your welcome:)
We have had WAY too much fun with you. Daddy has decided that I am the lunch wagon and he is the mule....I am constantly feeding you and he is my pack mule:) and FINALLY tonight you peed on daddy while he was changing you. Classic. I laughed so hard!
Well little buddy...we are so in love with you and can't wait to watch you grow. You are quite the chill little fella and only fuss when we change your wee little bum. You are so tiny and now that you are getting the hang of eating...we can't wait to fatten you up.
We love you and welcome to our family. Sometimes daddy and I just STARE at you and giggle at your many faces. So far our favorites are your "ET face"( You stretch your neck up and wrinkle your forehead) and your "baby bugs" face (you make this while sucking on your binki. It totally looks like you have bunny teeth:)
Thanks for making me a mommy. I love you SOOO much!
Love,
The lunch wagon and the mule. :)
